Who says life can't change after 50?
A few years ago we co-chaired a large fundraising event for our daughters' high school; the event was a huge success and we enjoyed the philanthropic aspect of it tremendously. We worked well together, shared a love for fashion, an interest in fundraising and the desire to step off in a new professional direction. One thing led to another - the entrepreneurial bug bit us - and we were off!
Our company, Change Handbags, creates unique but practical products that provide a way to celebrate style, while fulfilling our mission to generate funds to benefit important women's causes. We feel that if our primary customers are women, then our products should give something back to women. We will donate ten percent of our annual profit to 501(c)3 organizations working to better the lives of women in need. Our list includes: REACH (beyond domestic violence), Horizons for Homeless Children, and Dress for Success. In the future, as Change Handbags grows, we will expand this list.
